Scott + Reid is thrilled to announce that Colin Harmon has been recognized with the prestigious TEXO Safety Professional of the Year Award. Safety professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our teams and the success of our projects through planning, implementing, and enforcing safety measures on jobsites. These individuals work to protect our employees while cultivating and prioritizing safety throughout the company and its culture. Safety helps keep employees safe and at ease – knowing we are consistently in tune with the latest developments in construction safety and technology.

The TEXO Safety Professional of theYear Award is given to those who demonstrate exceptional leadership in safety and health within the construction industry. Since his arrival at Scott + Reid, Colin has been instrumental in shaping our safety operating procedures and standards. He has not only met, but exceeded these qualifications, showing a consistent drive to improve safety standards, advocate for best practices, and promote a culture of safety across the organization – even implementing the latest technology in construction safety.

As evidence of his commitment to safety, Scott + Reid’s Experience Modification Rate (EMR) has been better than industry average. While Colin leads safety for the firm, we recognize that this award is not possible without a dedicated team that keeps safety at the forefront of everything we do.

At Scott + Reid, safety is more than just a policy; it is a commitment deeply ingrained in our core values. We firmly believe that safety should be integrated into every aspect of our operations, starting from the bidding process. From the initial stages of a project, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our team members, clients, and the communities we serve.

Our safety program is built on the principles of risk management and prevention. We recognize that safety is a collective responsibility that extends to every individual within our organization. Regardless of their title or role, we involve and engage every employee in our safety initiatives, from training to daily inspections. By empowering our employees and subcontractor partners, we create a culture of vigilance and shared responsibility where everyone is encouraged to recognize, address, and report potential hazards and dangerous situations.

TEXO was founded in 2009 to build the best construction community for North and East Texas. In fact, TEXO is the largest construction industry trade association in Texas and one of the country’s largest chapters affiliated with both the national ABC and AGC. We are proud to be a part of TEXO and thank them for featuring and honoring Colin for all of his hard work. His safety achievements are certainly a win for all of us!
