Guidance and Education for Young Women In Construction
The National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC), shares important information when it comes to education for young women in construction. Much of the need for guidance comes from changing the perception of women working in construction while exciting and engaging them about the many possibilities they have working in the field.
In a helpful guide for parents, the NAWIC outlines helpful fun summer camp opportunities geared towards educating girls in construction – including CAMP NAWIC – along with vocational-technical high schools for those who may know it’s already their path. They detail additional programs such as trade schools and colleges as well as traditional degree programs.
For young women who may be interested in construction, but already have a degree, the NAWIC shares helpful information for certificate and construction education programs that can also be helpful for a career change, shift, focus, or even to explore an area to see if it might be right for you.
